Abstract
Famagusta is the second biggest city in Northern Cyprus, with a developing population yearly. From investigations gathered Famagusta walled city houses the medieval and traditional character of the city. However, this paper tends to examine the space creation and social impact of the walled city, demonstrating the essential and geographical locations, such as the port, the entrance, the basic design, and the growth character. It is a research bases on literature and data’s gathered from books, magazines, and journal. The adoption on holistic approach shall be used examine the core character of the walled city, with pictorial analysis also utilized. The walled city of Famagusta would be analyzed by describing the urban pattern and morphology through different periods. Geographical mapping would be a key method while identifying the undulating history of Famagusta. This paper tends to analyze Famagusta’s character and city design from the past to the present. Providing a glaring understanding of the city and enhancing of the city's development culturally, socially and economically.
