Abstract
The objective of the study is to evaluate the existing recruitment and selection process of a specialized type of public bank, the Bangladesh Agricultural Bank (Bangladesh Krishi Bank, BKB) and National Bank Limited (NBL) which is a privately owned commercial bank. The selection of the BKB and NBL, head office of the BKB and branch offices of these two banks has been done purposively. Total 35 and 25 numbers of employees of BKB and NBL were surveyed through pre structured questionnaire. Out of thirty five employees, nineteen employees were selected from the head office of the BKB as per convenient sampling while sixteen and twenty five employees were interviewed from branch offices of the BKB and NBL respectively through the census method of sampling while secondary sources were also done. Frequency, percentage, regression analyses and a five point Likert scale method were used to analyze the data. There are many mixed outcomes of the study. The study concluded by providing some suggestions for the better recruitment and selection process of the BKB and NBL.
